Everest Mountain Flight

One hour, window seat guaranteed, and the whole Mahalangur range at eye level — Everest before breakfast.

Not everyone has three weeks and two working knees — and the mountain does not check. The sunrise mountain flight traces the Himalayan wall from Langtang to Everest and back, close enough that the summit ridge fills your window, high enough that no fitness is required beyond fastening a seatbelt.

How the morning goes

  • 05:45 — Pickup from your Thamel hotel, coffee in hand
  • 06:15 — Check-in at the domestic terminal; boarding pass says 'Mountain'
  • 06:30 — Wheels up, climbing east along the Himalayan wall
  • 06:50 — Everest out the window; every passenger invited to the cockpit
  • 07:30 — Touchdown, certificate in hand, back for breakfast

What you will see

The aircraft flies the range eastbound with the peaks on the left, then turns and flies home with the peaks on the right — so both sides of the cabin get the full panorama, and everyone is invited forward to the cockpit for the head-on view of Everest.

  • Everest (8,849 m) — the black pyramid above everything
  • Lhotse and Nuptse — the wall beside it
  • Makalu (8,485 m) — the great pink granite wedge
  • Ama Dablam — the Khumbu's most photographed profile
  • Kanchenjunga (8,586 m) on the clearest mornings — a second country away
“I trekked to Base Camp for two weeks and took this flight the day after — and I would not give either one back.” — client review, Oct 2025

Good to know

  • Flights are weather-dependent; delays roll to the next morning at no charge
  • Every seat is a window seat — the aircraft flies the range in both directions
  • Bring your passport for airport check-in, and a long lens if you have one
  • Pairs perfectly with a rest day before or after any trek
  • Not a substitute for acclimatisation — the cabin stays pressurised
